Public Health Analyst

The incumbent serves as a senior public health analyst responsible for planning, formulating, analyzing, evaluating, and/or implementing program policies for public health programs. Managing cross-cutting initiatives to accomplish programmatic goals relating to the use of legal epidemiology as a science-based policy and law tool to improve public health service delivery. RESPONSIBILITIESAs a Public Health Analyst you will: Provide expert-quality formal and informal reports that address vital issues, multi-functional study and analytical approaches, expert-level findings, and cogent, substantive recommendations that are primarily used as the basis for key executive-level management decisions. Conduct policy and law related research to evaluate highly visible actions such as laws and policies impacting public health service delivery.
Review and assess the effectiveness of current public health policies and determines where new or changed policies are required to effectively execute public health programs, missions, and functions. Prepare Congressional testimony, policy documents, briefings, reports, summaries, responses to requests for information, and other substantive documents. Manage cross-cutting initiatives to accomplish programmatic goals relating to the use of legal epidemiology as a science-based policy and law tool to improve public health. Minimum Qualification Requirements In accordance with Office of Personnel Management policy, federal employees are assumed to have gained experience by performing duties and responsibilities appropriate for their official series and grade level as described in their position description. Experience that would not normally be part of the employee's position is creditable, however, when documented by satisfactory evidence, such as a signed memorandum from the employee's supervisor or an SF-50 or SF-52 documenting an official detail or other official assignment. The documentation must indicate whether the duties were performed full time or, if part time, the percentage of times the other duties were performed. It is expected that this documentation is included in the employee's official personnel record.
