Regional Director of Population and Development in Latin America

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Regional Director to lead our efforts in population and development in Latin America. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic direction, oversight, and leadership to our regional office, ensuring the effective implementation of our programs and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership: Provide overall vision, guidance, and direction to the regional office, ensuring alignment with UNFPA's global strategy and goals.
- Program Oversight: Oversee the implementation of regional and country programs, ensuring they reflect country and regional priorities and adhere to quality standards.
- Resource Management: Assume overall accountability for the management of regional resources, including budgeting, financial planning, and human resource management.
- Networking and Partnership: Establish and maintain strong partnerships with governments, civil society, and other stakeholders to promote collaboration and coordination on population and development issues.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Master's degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g., public health, international development, sociology).
- At least 15 years of increasingly responsible professional experience in public administration and international development, with a focus on population and development at the international level.
- Demonstrated expertise in strategic leadership, program management, and resource mobilization.
- Strong networking and partnership-building skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English and Spanish (and/or Portuguese and/or French).
