**Regional Awards Manager**

Save the Children is looking for a Regional Awards Manager. This role offers a leadership opportunity for an individual highly experienced in grants management, providing a strong and strategic leadership and support to a diverse and dynamic team across the region, as well as the management of a portfolio of awards with an annual spending budget of approx. USD 100M/year. Post holder will provide both leadership and technical support to the project and program teams in the regional and country´s offices, to deliver donor compliant awards (rules and regulations), ensuring the consistent delivery of timely and quality donor reports. Post holder will also have a strong management insight with respect to partnership, notably with the Localisation lens.

**ROLE PURPOSE**

As a key member of the Regional Programme Operations team, the Regional Awards Manager-RAM- is responsible for ensuring that awards, contracts, and sub-grant agreements are donor compliant across the entire Latin American and Caribbean region. This includes working with project managers to ensure donor compliance at the Regional Office as well as supporting award managers in the 9 Country Offices in the region. The post holder will work collaboratively with Save the Children´s members, partners, and cross-functionally country and regional office level, ensuring smooth management of development and humanitarian programme awards and sub awards.

**KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY**

**Leadership in Award Management**
- Build CO and RO staff capacity to manage awards and comply with donor requirements, coordinating efforts with Members to provide demand-driven capacity building, and collaborating with Centre Office and other Regional Awards Leads to drive learning approaches that positively impact LAC CO AM standards and performance.
- Build relationships within the award management community, and cross-functional teams to support the ways of working and coordination of deliverables included in contracts, agreements and /or sub-agreements with partners. Solving or escalating issues to the AM centre team if required.
- Provide regional leadership in award management functions through recruitment, mentoring and active talent management and development of key LAC CO awards staff.
- Create an environment of continuous learning for awards staff, sustaining a regional AM Community of Practice to drive peer-to-peer support and collaboration between awards leads that supports our programme results for children.
- Provide strong matrix (dotted line) management for country awards leads in the region including input to development and performance objectives and feedback to line managers for performance reviews.
- Ensure that LAC Regional Office awards function maintains appropriate preparedness and capability to respond to emergencies.
- Manages the regional office implemented award portfolio, ensuring that appropriate review of awards is occurring in line with the SCI scheme of delegation.
- Act as a positive role model, exhibiting leadership within the Awards Management function for the region.

**Award Management Standards & Donor Compliance**
- Participate in the award cycle from pre-contract review and negotiation to the post-award close-out.
- Support Resource Mobilisation (owner of pre-award processes) to ensure consistent understanding of delivery risks and issues, learning from previous experiences.
- Uphold SCI Award Management and Donor Compliance Standards, and performance of functional and cross-functional KPIs and MI for awards delivery.
- Support and drive the use of the SC online Awards Management System (AMS). Ensure AMS is up-to-date and effectively maintained.
- Analyse KPI results, providing supporting information to the RO and Centre, and identifying improvements that can be undertaken to improve results in the Award Management related KPIs. Ensures Implementing Office awards teams have action plans to improve performance as needed and supports Implementing offices to implement actions.
- Act as the key contact for broad donor regulations and compliance issues, including coordinating with members to ensure donor compliance support as necessary. Contribute to the improvement of key award management processes, practices, and global tools in conjunction with other functions.
- Ensure partner agreements meet Award Management standards by working closely with Finance, Legal, and Partnership teams to develop payment standards, quality control, and disallowance prevention mechanisms.
